My Background
I have had a life long passion for language. I speak good French having studied at a French school for over 14 years. Long time years ago I decided it was time I learnt to speak English, so I packed my bags and travelled to the UK from my home city Madrid. Arriving without speaking a word of English I discovered that with determination, and consistency it is never too late for anything in life. I believe that the key to achieving results is working in a way that is tailored to the individual. Students that may struggle with a rigidly structured approach often thrive when taught in an informal way in a relaxed setting.
I have over six years experience doing private tuition for learners of a variety of different ages and ability levels. I hold a Masters degree with Distinction from the International University of Valencia (VIU) in The Teaching of Spanish as Foreign Language. The subject of my thesis was “The use of Popular Spanish Culture within an English Teaching Environment”

ONline Spanish Lessons
In addition to face to face sessions I also deliver online sessions for those that are travelling, or located too far away to come in person. The tools available for online sessions have improved dramatically in recent years and I pride myself on being able to deliver a learning experience that is just as enjoyable and engaging as a face to face session.

Working with Children and Teenagers
One of my biggest achievements is to have two bilingual children. Not only are they, able to think, write and read in Spanish but they have a detailed understanding of the two cultures. I learnt a lot working to help my children achieve this level of fluency and in the process became passionate about helping other children and younger adults develop a second language. I completed a course for Teachers of children learning Spanish as Foreign Language with the Instituto Cervantes in London, and have a lot of experience preparing younger learners for GCSE’s, A-levels, and International Baccalaureate. Also I have worked with University students.

BUSINESS EXPERTISE
I am a fully qualified Spanish lawyer with over 18 years professional experience in law and business in the UK and Spain. I have worked as a Registered European Lawyer while managing the Spanish Legal department at a UK solicitors in addition to many years professional practice in Spain. This experience makes me ideally suited to provide tuition or coaching for groups or individuals looking to conduct business with Spanish speaking countries.

OTHER INTERESTS
I studied ballet for twelve years and music for four. I have engaged in a variety of sports and I discovered the pleasure of climbing five years ago!!! I enjoy art, travel and European films.
